Please visit David Milsom's Photo Gallery: Spain
There is no country in the Mediterranean that offers such a wealth of stunning scenery, diverse natural habitats, Romanesque architecture, ancient fortified hilltop villages and superb bird watching as Spain. For two weeks, we'll travel the entire length of this sun-drenched land, from a vantage point near Gibraltar where the Moroccan coastline is only ten kilometres away, across the vast open plains where great bustards still gather and imperial eagles soar overhead, to the lofty heights of the Pyrenees Mountains.

We'll visit some of Spain's renowned nature reserves at a time when Europe's bird migration is in full swing and the wildflowers are starting to paint the countryside in colourful hues. We will stop at a raptor migration viewpoint to see hundreds, perhaps thousands, of raptors and storks as they cross the Mediterranean Sea to the Spanish coast. We'll also explore the Belen Steppes, Monfrague National Park and some splendid Pyrenees alpine habitats.

In addition to these nature highlights, we will see some magnificent fortified villages and their cathedrals, churches, and castles.
