Unique wildlife and wonderful landscapes await you on this exciting safari. We begin our adventure with the colossal, constantly shifting sand dunes of Sossusvlei. We head next to the coast, where the Walvis Bay lagoon is one of the most important coastal wetlands in southern Africa.
We make our way inland again to Damaraland, to view the fascinating landscape and ancient paintings and engravings that are found on the rocky hillsides. We hope to spot the desert-adapted elephants that have made Damaraland their unlikely home.
Etosha National Park is a game lover's dream, with all of the typical southern African savannah dwellers: giraffe, elephant, eland, wildebeest, kudu, gemsbok, springbok, impala, steenbok and zebra. Among the rarer species, black rhino continue to thrive here.
The Caprivi Strip, in the northeastern Kalahari, is a verdant area of woodlands and floodplains. Wildlife here is typical of central rather than southern Africa. The wild dog, a critically endangered species, still survives in this area. Hippopotamus and crocodile populate the rivers, and birdlife is prolific. We'll dip down into Botswana to continue exploring the abundant wildlife of bordering Chobe National Park.
Our tour concludes at spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the wonders of the natural world. |
