To all of us at Quest Nature Tours, and to our participants, wildlife viewing is a tremendously exciting pursuit that we can share with our friends or the new ones we make on our travels. Thousands of people from all walks of life have travelled with us since 1970. All have a love of the outdoors and enjoy visiting some of the most incredible places on Earth with us in small groups accompanied by enthusiastic and knowledgeable leaders. Whether on aboard our small-ship expedition cruises or on one of our many land-based itineraries, these unique vacations are not only enlightening, but are filled with camaraderie and fun.
We continue to expand our expedition cruise program with new ships and destinations, while offering the core programs that we have operated for so many years. Whether you are sailing in the iceberg-studded waters of Antarctica or the High Arctic, the rainforest-lined shores of the mighty Amazon River or the unique islands of the Galapagos and Queen Charlotte archipelagos, when you sail with us you are exposed to some of the most exciting adventures of your life.
Our land-based itineraries have also been recently enhanced with the addition of Borneo in September, 2008, Belize and Guatemala in January, 2009, Northern Tanzania in February, 2009, Arizona in April, 2009 and Eastern Europe in May, 2009.
Thanks to your support, Quest Nature Tours has grown to be the largest operator of nature tours and expedition cruises in Canada. We appreciate being given the opportunity to be part of your holiday plans and hope you’ll join us for a memorable vacation in the near future.
Barry’s lifelong interest in the environment has been a major influence in determining his activities over the years. He is an educator, an intrepid traveller, a widely published wildlife photographer, an author and general editor of an Environmental Studies series of textbooks, a past President of Ontario Nature, a past Director of Nature Canada, and a past Director of Bird Studies Canada. From 1970 to the start-up of Quest Nature Tours, he led many natural history tours to Canada’s Arctic and international nature destinations for Canadian Nature Tours.
Barry, along with his wife Dynese, founded Quest Nature Tours in 1987 and since then they have seen it grow into the largest nature tour company in Canada with over 70% of its participants being repeat travellers. Since his credo for operating Quest tours has always been “no surprises”, he continues to design and personalize each new tour by visiting the proposed destination to meet with the local operator and guides and “tweak” the itinerary to meet Quest’s high standards.
